Black Scranton Project took root as simple research question that quickly blossomed into a long-term archival project and local heritage initiative.

We are dedicated to creating spaces that educate, unite, inspire, encourage, and bring awareness to Black history and the culture of the Scranton area. It is time we recognize the contributions of the Black residents —200 years of discounted history.
